Poetry by Heart
Well done to everyone who took part in Poetry by Heart on March 1. The evening event was held in the Old Library and we were lucky enough to hear a whole range of wonderful poetry, from Lewis Carroll’s The Jabberwocky, to the fast-paced W.H. Auden’s Night Mail. Our students were confident, well-spoken and held an excellent stage presence as they recited their chosen poems, and the judges were so impressed by all of the students who performed that they had trouble picking winners. A big thankyou to Ms Harvey, Ms Fullalove and Mrs Walker from the English department for helping to run the event and for judging. Winners will be contacted by the end of this week to let them know if have been chosen to represent RGS in the national competition, but a huge well-done to everyone involved!
