Celebrating Exceptional GCSE Results
- 43% Grade 9
- 73% Grades 8 – 9
- 90% Grades 7 – 9
Following news of best-ever A level results from last week, these record breaking and astonishing results will open doors of opportunity as these young people move on to the Sixth Form, carrying with them lifetime memories and lifelong friendships formed at school.
They balanced their GCSE studies with a life worth living and, well, they smashed it! They completed Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze and Silver Awards, performed in over 50 music concerts or drama productions, participated in numerous debates and MUN conferences, volunteered thousands of hours in the community, planted hundreds of trees, engaged empathetically with the RGS Global Village across the world, played sports, went on trips, had fun and so much more.
The breadth of the curriculum is incredible, offering languages like Mandarin, German, Spanish, French, and Latin at GCSE or A Level. This sits alongside triple Science and Computer Science qualifications, Further Maths GCSE and a wide range of courses in the Arts, Humanities and social sciences.
Shaun Fenton, RGS Headmaster said:
“An RGS education is for life, not just for school days. It’s about more than passing exams; it’s about learning. It’s about being a good sport, not just being good at sport. It’s about understanding not just the price of things, but the value of the many wonders our world offers. With those foundations, we can ask these impressive young people to use the benefits of a great education to make the world a better place.”
These results are a testament to the RGS community – great teachers and staff, supportive families, hardworking students and a group of young people looking after each other, lifting one another up to be their best selves. That is the RGS way.
