RGS U13 Hockey team retains the national ISHC title

On Thursday 14 March the RGS U13 girls’ Hockey team travelled to Redbridge Sports Centre to defend their National hockey title in the Independent Schools’ Hockey Cup (ISHC). #TeamReigate were drawn against Bedford High School in the semi-final where things didn’t start as well as they could with RGS finding themselves 2-0 down early on. The girls regrouped and fought back and managed to finish 5-4 in an amazingly close and exciting end to end match. This result qualified them for the ISHC final against Redmaids (the team they beat last year).

The final started slowly but then #TeamReigate notched it up a gear and came away with a 5-0 win showing class, precision and skill. The girls worked really well as a team and deserve the win and the trophy.

RGS is the only school to have successfully defended a title in this competition. Congratulation to all the players and thank you to the RGS parents for their support at this game and throughout the season.
