International Exhibition Match 2022
International hockey players at RGS!
As support of our aim to drive Performance Hockey, on Friday the 11th March we hosted our inaugural International Exhibition Match at Hartswood. We welcomed seven current senior international players from England, New Zealand and Scotland, three of whom were familiar faces as they currently work at the school coaching hockey on a regular basis! The international stars joined up with our performance boys and girls to create all-star teams in two exciting matches.
This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to experience hockey played at the highest level, with some of the best players in the world, and it lived up to expectation. Both matches were played at an electric pace and the international players were very complimentary of our students and the hockey they played.
It was great to see so many students, parents and members of the wider Reigatian community down to support, despite the weather conditions at the start, to make this celebration of sport at RGS a night to remember for all. Many thanks to the catering team for putting on a fantastic BBQ where I’m sure students and parents alike enjoyed the opportunity to mingle with the internationals. Thank you also everyone who donated towards the Ukraine as apart of our RGS we care campaign.
