District Athletics Success for RGS

RGS athletes achieved some great results at the recent District Athletics meet at K2 on 10 May. With 14 schools taking part, RGS fielded boys and girls in both the Junior and Intermediate competitions. The girls teams both won their competitions, beating the second placed school by over 30 points! The boys also had a good run coming 10th in the Junior league and 3rd in the Intermediate.

The following athletes won their individual events and will qualify for County Athletics later this year:

JUNIOR:

• Dan S High Jump
• Vicky W 100m &200m
• Freya Tr 300m

INTERMEDIATE:

• Lucy B – 800m
• Lily G – 300m
• Peggy W – 100m & 200m
• Ed MT – Javelin
• Sam C – High jump
• Hannah G – Triple Jump
• Katie M – Shot & Javelin
• Zoe M – Discus

Due to their outstanding performances the following have also qualified for County Athletics.

• Daisy G – High jump
• Ed S – 100m
• Issy H – 1500m
• Ellie OD – 100m
• Rosie B – 200m
• Clara A – 800m
• Michelle O – 300m
